Dr. Webb wins age division in XTerra Dirty in Canyon Lake, and claims 5th overall.
Dr. Doug Webb of Houston, TX, showed his talent as a triathlete this past Sunday at the XTERRA Dirty in Canyon Lake, TX. "I'm not a good swimmer, so I came out of the water pretty far back, but I passed everyone on the bike." The bike conditions were muddy and technical after recent rains, which suited Webb's background as a mountain biker.
The run was tough in those conditions, but Webb managed to hold off all but two competitors to claim the 5th overall position. Webb, who had completed a sprint triathlon the day before, felt strong throughout the race. He is also coming off a first place finish at the Big Ring Challenge in Coldspring, Texas. The Big Ring Challenge also featured muddy trails and a good dose of rain during the race. Webb is a powerful rider and bested a tough field--nabbing first place on a sprint finish.
Congratulations, Doug! KSP is looking forward to the future achievements of this outstanding athlete.
